Ofcom Warns Platforms Over Violent Posts
Britain’s communications regulator has urged social media companies to curb content that incites violence after a stabbing in Belfast sparked a wave of online misinformation, hate speech and anti-migrant unrest.
The concerns followed the circulation of a 54-second video showing a knife attack in north Belfast. The footage was shared on X late Monday by far-right activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, shortly after police reported that a man in his 40s had been seriously injured. The victim was later identified as Stephen Ogilvie.
