Milk Sold at Tesco and Asda Recalled

Graham’s Family Dairy has issued an urgent recall of certain semi-skimmed milk products sold at Tesco, Asda, and Morrisons in England after traces of veterinary medicines, including the antibiotic penicillin, were detected.

The recall affects all sizes of Graham’s Family Dairy Semi-Skimmed Milk with a use-by date of 31 July. According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the product may pose a health risk to people who are allergic to antibiotics such as penicillin. The recall applies only to products sold in England.

The FSA has advised customers not to consume the affected milk. Instead, shoppers should return the product to the store where it was purchased to receive a full refund. Retailers are displaying point-of-sale notices and publishing recall information online to inform customers about the issue.

In a statement, Graham’s Family Dairy said the recall is a precautionary measure due to a small possibility that trace amounts of antibiotics may be present in the milk. While the risk is considered low, the company said the product could trigger an allergic reaction in people with penicillin or antibiotic allergies.

The dairy company also emphasized that no other Graham’s Family Dairy products or use-by dates are affected by the recall and apologized to customers for the inconvenience.
