Uber Offers 30% Ride Discount to Fans of Eliminated World Cup Teams

Losing at the World Cup may be disappointing, but Uber is giving football fans a small consolation prize.

The ride-hailing company has launched a promotion that rewards supporters whose national team is knocked out of the FIFA World Cup. Fans who select their favorite team in the Uber app before that team is eliminated will automatically receive a 30% discount on a future ride if their team exits the tournament.

To qualify for the offer, users must open the Uber app, tap the “Choose Your Team” option, and select the country they are supporting. Once a team is chosen, Uber will follow its progress throughout the tournament. If that team is eliminated, the discount will be applied to the user’s account.

The promotion comes as the FIFA World Cup continues with matches being played across the United States, including Spain vs. Cabo Verde, Belgium vs. Egypt, Saudi Arabia vs. Uruguay, and IR Iran vs. New Zealand.

The offer is subject to a maximum discount of $7 and is limited to one promotional ride per user
