Pesto, Cashews and Desserts Recalled
Several supermarkets, including Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons, have issued urgent food recalls in recent weeks after safety concerns were identified in a range of products.
The recalled items include pasta sauce, cashews, chutney and frozen desserts. Details of the recalls have been published on supermarket websites and by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Customers who purchased any of the affected products are advised not to consume them and to return them to their local store for a full refund.
Morrisons Recalls
Morrisons has issued two active food recalls involving cashews and pasta sauce products.
Morrisons Savers Salted Cashews, 125g
Morrisons is recalling its Savers Salted Cashews as a precaution after discovering that some packs may contain glass fragments.
Customers are urged not to eat the product and to return it to any Morrisons store. A receipt is not required for a refund.
The supermarket said: “We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”
Filippo Berio Hot Chilli Pesto, 190g
Filippo Berio has recalled its Hot Chilli Pesto due to an undeclared fish ingredient missing from the back label.
The recall affects products with a best-before date of May 15, 2028.
Consumers who purchased the affected pesto are advised not to use it and to return it for a full refund without needing a receipt.
Tesco Recalls
Tesco also has several active recalls currently listed, including chutney and frozen dessert products.
Arran Chutney Caramelised Red Onion, 195g
Fox’s Burton Companies (FBC) has recalled selected batches of Arran Chutney Caramelised Red Onion because of a possible metal contamination risk.
Affected batch dates include:
November 25, 2028, January 7, 2029, January 14, 2029, January 15, 2029, January 26, 2029, January 27, 2029, February 2, 2029, February 3, 2029
Tesco is advising customers not to eat the chutney and to return affected jars to stores for a full refund.
Gü Frozen Double Sea Salted Caramel Dessert, 2x85g
Gü has recalled a specific batch of its Frozen Double Sea Salted Caramel Dessert after discovering that some packaging may contain the wrong product.
The incorrect product may contain hazelnuts and soya, creating a potential allergy risk.
Affected details include:
Best before: June 30, 2027
Lot code: 126135
Customers with allergies or intolerances to nuts, hazelnuts or soya are strongly advised not to consume the dessert and to return it to Tesco for a full refund.
