Villa Beat Freiburg 3-0 to Lift Trophy

Aston Villa celebrated a historic night in Istanbul after defeating German side Freiburg 3-0 to win the Europa League and secure their first major trophy in three decades.

Goals from Youri Tielemans, Emi Buendia, and England international Morgan Rogers guided Villa to victory at Tupras Stadium on Wednesday, marking the club’s first European success since 1982.

Among the jubilant supporters was Prince William, a well-known Villa fan, who joined celebrations from the stands as the West Midlands side completed a memorable triumph.

The victory also added another remarkable achievement to manager Unai Emery’s career. The Spaniard claimed the Europa League title for a record fifth time, having previously won the competition three times with Sevilla and once with Villarreal.

Rogers expressed his emotions after the final whistle, saying: “It’s hard to put into words. You work so hard for moments like this and we all delivered. It’s a great moment for the fans and for the club.”

Tielemans echoed his teammate’s pride, praising the squad’s determination throughout a challenging season.

“It’s amazing,” he said. “There have been plenty of ups and downs this season, but the way we turned things around is a credit to both the players and the staff.”

Villa took the lead through Tielemans before Buendia doubled the advantage with a brilliant strike from the edge of the area just before halftime. Rogers then sealed the win 12 minutes into the second half, completing a dominant performance and ensuring a night to remember for Villa supporters.
