Eugenie and Brooksbank announce baby number 3

Princess Eugenie has announced that she is expecting her third child with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. The couple shared the news on Instagram on Monday, writing, “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!”

The 36-year-old royal also posted a photo of their two sons, August and Ernest, holding an ultrasound image. According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, the baby is expected this summer.

The palace confirmed that the couple are “very pleased” and added that their sons—five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest—are “very excited” to welcome a new sibling. King Charles III has been informed and is said to be “delighted” with the news.

The child will be the fifth grandchild of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Eugenie’s sister, Princess Beatrice, has two daughters, Sienna and Athena Mapelli Mozzi.

The announcement is seen as a sign of continued support for Eugenie amid ongoing public attention surrounding her father. Recently, Eugenie and Beatrice did not attend the traditional Easter Sunday royal gathering, with the King’s permission, during heightened scrutiny linked to controversies involving Prince Andrew.

The new baby will not hold an HRH title but will be 15th in line to the British throne. The child will also become the 15th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, and the third born since her passing in 2022.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank were married at Windsor Castle in 2018.
