Edward stays in cottage amid Andrew move delay
Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, reportedly stayed in a nearby holiday cottage on the Sandringham Estate over the Easter period due to delays in Prince Andrew relocating from Wood Farm.
According to reports, Edward and Sophie had hoped to stay at Wood Farm, a property on the edge of the 20,000-acre estate traditionally used by members of the Royal Family. However, Andrew is currently residing there temporarily following his departure from Royal Lodge in Windsor, while renovation work continues on his intended long-term residence, Marsh Farm.
Sources cited by The Sun claim Andrew has been dividing his time between Wood Farm and Marsh Farm as preparations near completion. Work at Marsh Farm has included moving personal belongings such as books and paintings into the property, with the move expected to be finalized soon.
Because Wood Farm remained occupied, Edward and Sophie instead stayed at Gardens House, a cottage located roughly 300 yards from Sandringham House. The property, once used by the estate’s head gardener, can accommodate up to eight guests and is also available as a holiday rental during parts of the year.
Reports also noted a recent security concern near Marsh Farm when individuals were seen attempting to look over a fence surrounding the property. The situation drew attention due to heightened interest in Andrew’s relocation.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for the individuals involved have publicly commented on the reported arrangements.
