Tens of Thousands Join London Anti-Far-Right March

Tens of thousands of people marched through central London on Saturday in a large demonstration titled “March to Stop the Far Right.” Many participants voiced opposition to the right-wing Reform UK party, led by Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage, which has recently been performing strongly in opinion polls.

Organized by the Together Alliance and supported by trade unions and civil society organizations, the protest was expected to draw around 30,000 attendees, according to a police official. If confirmed, it would rank among the largest demonstrations held in the British capital in recent years.

Protesters carried signs criticizing Reform UK’s policies, particularly its stance on immigration. Alongside these messages, some demonstrators displayed Iranian flags as well as banners and flags supporting Palestine. The march was scheduled to conclude near the British Parliament building.

Recent opinion surveys suggest Reform UK is polling ahead of Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Party and other established political parties. Zach Polanski, a leader of the Green Party, also participated in the demonstration as his party continues to challenge Labour’s support base.
