Maya Jama and Ruben Dias Upgrade Mansion Security
Love Island host Maya Jama and Manchester City defender Ruben Dias have reportedly increased security at their £4 million Cheshire mansion following a shocking burglary earlier this year.
The celebrity couple were left devastated in January when burglars targeted their luxury home in the exclusive village of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, only weeks after they had moved into the property.
At the time of the break-in, Maya Jama was in South Africa filming the reality dating show Love Island, while her boyfriend Ruben Dias was away watching his Manchester City teammates compete in the UEFA Champions League.
High-Value Items Stolen in Mansion Raid
Police investigating the burglary confirmed that several high-value items were stolen during the raid. However, authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident.
The property itself is well known locally, as it was previously featured as a prize home in an Omaze charity draw.
Despite already having advanced security systems in place, the couple has decided to significantly strengthen their protection measures following the crime.
24-Hour Security Team Hired
According to reports, Maya Jama and Ruben Dias have now hired a 24-hour live-in security team to guard the property.
A specialist security company has installed Strongbox security units in the garden, allowing guards to stay on site around the clock.
In a thoughtful move, the couple has even arranged for a portable toilet to be installed, ensuring that guards do not have to leave the premises unattended.

A source said the couple were deeply shaken by the incident.
“Maya and Ruben were really shocked by the burglary because the house already had state-of-the-art security systems,” the insider explained.
Celebrities Increasing Home Security
The source also noted that high-profile individuals, particularly footballers, are increasingly becoming targets for organized criminals.
Burglars are believed to monitor match schedules and travel plans, striking when players are away from home.
“They are not the first celebrities to be targeted by so-called ‘Away Day’ robbers and they likely won’t be the last,” the source added.
As a result, many Premier League players are now adding private security guards to their list of personal staff, alongside fitness coaches, chefs, and drivers.
Concerns Over Possible Insider Information
Meanwhile, some footballers reportedly fear that burglaries could involve an “inside man” — someone within their trusted circle who may be leaking information about their schedules or security arrangements.
According to insiders, the possibility has created growing paranoia among some players.
“Some believe they’re simply being targeted by criminals, while others think someone within their inner circle may be betraying their trust,” the source said.
