Epstein planned to leave $50M and properties to lover

Jeffrey Epstein intended to leave a substantial portion of his fortune—including $50 million in cash, a 33-carat diamond ring, and several high-profile properties—to his girlfriend, Karyna Shuliak, according to his will signed shortly before his death.

The disgraced financier executed the will on August 8, 2019, just two days before he was found dead in his New York jail cell while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. At the time, Epstein’s estate was valued at approximately $288 million and was set to be divided among at least 44 beneficiaries.

Among the assets Epstein planned to leave to Shuliak were Little Saint James, widely known as “Epstein Island,” his Zorro Ranch estate in New Mexico, his Manhattan townhouse, and properties in Paris and Florida. He also intended to leave her $50 million in cash and a large diamond ring.

The will was signed by Epstein’s longtime attorney, Darren Indyke, eight days after Epstein’s death. However, the distribution outlined in the document never took place. Instead, Epstein’s estate was placed into a trust, which has since been used to compensate victims and to pay taxes and legal fees. Recent reports indicate that roughly $127 million remains in the estate.

Who Is Karyna Shuliak?

Karyna Shuliak is originally from Belarus and reportedly moved to the United States in 2009. She is believed to have been in a relationship with Epstein for approximately eight to ten years. Her association with him did not become public until several months after his death.

According to investigative records and media reports, Shuliak was sometimes referred to as “the inspector,” a nickname linked to her alleged habit of closely monitoring Epstein’s activities. Prison visitation logs show that she visited Epstein while he was in custody and was the last known person to speak with him by phone before his death.

Records also indicate that Shuliak was among the individuals traveling with Epstein on his private jet when he was arrested in July 2019 after returning from Paris.
