Family Relieved as Nora Comes Home
Cat Returned After Alleged Theft by Delivery Driver in West Yorkshire
A family in Elland, near Halifax, say they are “delighted and relieved” after their cat Nora was safely returned three days after allegedly being taken by a delivery driver.
Doorbell camera footage from 19 January showed the driver picking up the cat from the doorstep of Carl Crowther’s home on Park Avenue after ringing the doorbell while holding a parcel.

Crowther, his partner Sarah, and their two daughters had appealed online for Nora’s return, noting the cat was ill and required medication. The family described the uncertainty as a distressing “ordeal” and thanked members of the public for sharing posts about her disappearance.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed the cat had since been located and returned to its owners. They said a theft had been recorded and inquiries were continuing.
Despite the incident, Nora appeared unfazed and was reportedly enjoying extra treats and attention at home. The family said they would leave further investigation to the police.
