Brooklyn Beckham blasts ‘controlling’ family in blistering social media takedown
Brooklyn Beckham has spoken publicly for the first time about his reported rift with parents David and Victoria Beckham, issuing a lengthy statement in which he claims he was “controlled” and that his family attempted to sabotage his marriage to Nicola Peltz.
The eldest Beckham son said he has “no desire to reconcile” and accused his famous parents of feeding information to the press about him for years.
Claims of Wedding Interference
Brooklyn alleged that during preparations for his April 2022 wedding, his parents attempted to pressure him into signing away rights to his name and that Victoria Beckham cancelled Nicola’s planned wedding dress “at the eleventh hour.”
He also claimed that members of his family criticised Nicola and tried to exclude her from family events.
“They Tried to Humiliate Me”
The most striking accusation concerns the couple’s first dance. According to Brooklyn, his mother hijacked the moment by stepping in unexpectedly:
“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he wrote, adding that he and Nicola later discussed renewing their vows to “replace those memories.”
Family Tension Beyond the Wedding
Brooklyn said the tension continued following the ceremony, alleging that:
- his brothers were encouraged to attack him on social media
- he was later blocked without explanation
- he and Nicola were excluded from time with his father during David’s 50th birthday celebrations in London
He claimed they spent a week in a hotel waiting to see him, only for Nicola to be told she was not welcome.
“Disrespect Toward Nicola”
Brooklyn ended his statement by saying his family repeatedly disrespected his wife, even inviting women from his past “in ways clearly intended to make us uncomfortable
