Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 Episode Runtimes
According to the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 will consist of three episodes with a combined runtime of nearly three and a half hours. The official breakdown is as follows:
Episode 5 – Shock Jock: 1 hour, 8 minutes
Episode 6 – Escape From Camazotz: 1 hour, 15 minutes

Ross Duffer confirmed that Shock Jock picks up immediately after the Volume 1 finale, Sorcerer. He also praised writer Frank Darabont , stating that the episode is “far darker and far scarier” than Darabont’s previous Season 5 installment, Turnbow Trap.
Director Shawn Levy Returns for a Major Episode
Speaking about Escape From Camazotz, Duffer revealed that director Shawn Levy returns to helm what he described as “the biggest episode of the three.” He added that the performances are so powerful that they “make us cry every time we watch it.”
The following episode, The Bridge, is co-directed by Levy and the Duffer Brothers. Ross Duffer called it “probably the most emotional chapter of the season,” teasing fans by saying, “It’s gonna be a long six-day wait for the finale.”
Stranger Things Series Finale Runtime and Release Plans
The creators also shared an important update regarding the series finale, titled Stranger Things: The Finale — The Rightside Up. The final episode will now run 2 hours and 8 minutes, slightly longer than the previously announced 2 hours and 5 minutes.
In a special release strategy, the finale will debut simultaneously on Netflix and in 500 movie theaters across the United States on December 3. Meanwhile, Volume 2 of Season 5 will be released globally on Christmas Day, marking the beginning of the end for the iconic sci-fi series.
