Avengers: Endgame Returns to Theaters in September 2026

Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that Avengers: Endgame will return to theaters on September 25, 2026, ahead of the highly anticipated sequel Avengers: Doomsday, arriving in December. The re-release aims to re-engage fans and refresh the story leading into the next major chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, marks the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU—this time portraying the iconic villain Doctor Doom. The film will unite returning cast members with new heroes from Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the X-Men franchises, expanding Marvel’s interconnected universe.

Originally released on April 26, 2019, Avengers: Endgame became one of the highest-grossing films in history. The movie earned $858 million domestically and $1.941 billion internationally, reaching a global total of $2.799 billion. It also set the record for the biggest worldwide opening weekend with $1.2 billion.

Marvel Studios remains committed to theatrical premieres. Studio president Kevin Feige reaffirmed at CinemaCon 2024 that movie theaters are the ideal home for cinematic experiences. The upcoming re-release of Endgame is expected to further celebrate the Russo brothers’ acclaimed work and build anticipation for Avengers: Doomsday.
