When Colbert questioned why a real prince would want such a role, Harry quipped: “You Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies, and you’re clearly obsessed with royalty.” After Colbert pushed back on the idea of an American “obsession,” Harry fired back with the jab: “Really? I hear you elected a king.”
The remark appeared to reference long-running criticisms and “No Kings” protests involving Trump.
Joking about CBS’ recent settlement with Trump, Harry teased he would “do anything” to land the role: “I’ll record a self-tape, fly to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House — all the things TV people do.” When Colbert protested, Harry hit back with: “Maybe that’s why you’re cancelled.”
