Prince Harry Delivers Seven-Word Jab at Donald Trump During Surprise Late Show Sketch

Prince Harry took a humorous swipe at Donald Trump during a surprise appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The Duke of Sussex joined a comedy sketch in which he played himself auditioning for a Hallmark-style “Christmas prince” movie, leading to a sharp seven-word remark aimed at the former U.S. president.

In the segment, Harry wandered through the studio pretending he was lost while searching for an audition for “Gingerbread Christmas Prince Saves Christmas in Nebraska.” The appearance followed the recent reveal of his first speaking role in Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series.

When Colbert questioned why a real prince would want such a role, Harry quipped: “You Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies, and you’re clearly obsessed with royalty.” After Colbert pushed back on the idea of an American “obsession,” Harry fired back with the jab: “Really? I hear you elected a king.”

The remark appeared to reference long-running criticisms and “No Kings” protests involving Trump.

Joking about CBS’ recent settlement with Trump, Harry teased he would “do anything” to land the role: “I’ll record a self-tape, fly to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House — all the things TV people do.” When Colbert protested, Harry hit back with: “Maybe that’s why you’re cancelled.”

The comedic bit then transformed into a festive spectacle filled with Christmas trees and sleigh bells as Harry encouraged Colbert to “just believe.” Colbert ultimately crowned Harry as the show’s “official Late Show prince of Christmas,” sparking cheers from the audience.

Michael Shannon and Jessie Buckley were also guests on the episode, which marked Harry’s second Late Show appearance following his 2023 visit to promote his memoir Spare, an episode that broke viewership records.

Meghan Markle also shared part of the clip on Instagram, continuing the couple’s media presence since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and settling in Montecito, California with their children.Prince Harry Delivers Seven-Word Jab at Donald Trump During Surprise Late Show Sketch
