Storm Benjamin moves away to the east UK.

The storm, named by the French weather service Météo France, passed through the English Channel on Thursday morning, bringing the strongest winds to northern France with gusts reaching up to 100 mph (160 km/h).

As the storm continues to clear eastward, its impact on the UK is decreasing. Initially, four yellow weather warnings covered large parts of England and Wales, but these have now been reduced to two:

  • Rain warning for Norfolk and Suffolk – valid until 16:00 BST
  • Wind warning for eastern England – valid until 15:00 BST

Meteorologists confirm that conditions are expected to return to normal across affected areas in the coming hours.
