David Beckham recreates viral ‘be honest’ clip after wife Victoria surprises
The couple originally went viral in 2023 during the Beckham Netflix documentary, when David repeatedly asked Victoria to “be honest” about her so-called working-class childhood. The humorous exchange became one of the most shared clips from the series.
Victoria’s Christmas Tree Surprise
On Sunday, Victoria, 51, posted two videos on Instagram.
The first clip showed a bare Christmas tree standing by the window, with the former Spice Girl explaining that their daughter Harper, 14, had chosen a pale pink and lilac colour scheme for this year’s decorations. Victoria had only a few hours to finish the tree before David returned from a trip.
The second video revealed the fully decorated tree, glowing with lights and pastel ornaments.
Feeling proud of her efforts, Victoria said:
“OK, the tree is ready. I’m feeling like an over-achiever, I can’t lie. It’s a big tree—we have never been so ready for Christmas.”
David’s “Be Honest” Callback
As she spoke, the sound of a door creaking came from behind her, followed by David’s familiar voice saying:
“Be honest.”
When Victoria turned the camera, David peeked around the door and repeated the phrase.
He asked playfully:
“Did you really do that tree?”
Victoria insisted she had, but David teasingly pressed again:
“Be honest.”
Laughing, she replied that she had decorated it herself. David then smiled and said:
“A very nice surprise, Mrs. Claus.”
Throwback to the Viral Documentary Clip
The moment instantly reminded fans of the famous documentary scene where Victoria described her upbringing as “very working class.” David interrupted her, urging her to “be honest,” before asking what car her father used to drive her to school.
After trying to avoid the question, Victoria eventually admitted that her dad drove a Rolls-Royce in the 1980s — prompting David to nod in satisfaction and leave the room.
