B&M customers who bought Aptamil baby formula warned! Is Turkiye Affected by the Recall?
UK discount chain B&M has issued an urgent recall of several baby formula products from top brands Aptamil and Kendamil after some items were discovered to contain expired milk, raising concerns among parents both in the UK and abroad. The incident has led many to ask: “Will products in Turkey also be recalled?”
For now, the recall only applies to B&M stores in the United Kingdom, and there is no indication that Aptamil or Kendamil products sold in Turkey are affected by the issue.
Which Baby Formula Products Are Being Recalled?
B&M has pulled multiple baby formula items from shelves after confirming they contained milk with expiry dates of 08/10 or earlier. The recalled products include:
- Aptamil First Infant Milk Powder (800g) – Product Code: 348054
- Aptamil Follow-On Milk (4×200ml) – Product Code: 422087
- Kendamil Infant Milk (800g) – Product Code: 422378
- Aptamil Follow-On Milk (700g) – Product Code: 422056
- Kendamil First Milk (250ml) – Product Code: 422381
Customers are urged not to use the affected formulas and to return them immediately.
What Should Customers Do?
B&M’s recall notice instructs buyers to:
- Stop using the product immediately
- Return it to the nearest B&M store
- Receive a refund or replacement
- Contact Customer Services at 0330 838 9000 for questions or concerns
The retailer has launched an internal investigation to determine how expired milk entered circulation.
Manufacturer Danone Responds
Aptamil producer Danone UK & Ireland stated that the safety of its products is its “number one priority.”
The company confirmed that out-of-date Aptamil powders and ready-to-drink liquids were mistakenly sold by B&M at discounted prices — a violation of Danone’s global infant formula marketing standards.
Danone emphasized:
“These products should not have been sold. Once notified, we contacted B&M, and the retailer removed all out-of-date product and marketing materials immediately.”
Is Turkey Affected by the Recall?
At this stage:
- No recall has been announced in Turkey.
- The affected items were distributed only within UK B&M stores.
- Aptamil and Kendamil products sold in Turkey use separate distribution channels.
