Rachel Zegler Wows in Chic Shares Love for ‘Wicked’

Rachel Zegler turned heads in New York City on Monday as she stepped out in a bold, fashion-forward look. The 24-year-old actress, who recently spoke about inspiring advice she received from Helen Mirren, showcased a revealing black bralette layered beneath a blazer-style cropped top.

She paired the striking upper-half ensemble with high-waisted light-wash jeans featuring dramatic, semi-sheer black panels that draped over her feet. Zegler’s unique trousers offered a glimpse of her open-toe heels, creating a standout street-style moment. Completing the look, the Snow White star wore sleek, glossy onyx sunglasses and carried a braided black leather handbag. Her long, raven-black hair cascaded down her back in a deep center part, and she flashed a bright smile as she enjoyed her day in the Big Apple.

The outing comes eight months after Disney’s live-action Snow White, in which Zegler played the titular character, struggled at the box office and faced extensive public debate. During the film’s promotional tour, online speculation suggested tension between Zegler and co-star Gal Gadot, reportedly tied to differing views on global issues.

The remake itself drew mixed reactions due to its modernized approach to the classic story. In 2022, Zegler defended the updated direction in an interview with Vanity Fair, saying the changes were necessary for a contemporary audience. Actor Peter Dinklage also sparked discussion when he criticized Disney for revisiting what he described as an outdated narrative.

‘Wicked’ Triumphs: Zegler’s Glowing Review

Adding a significant moment to her Big Apple outing, Zegler attended and praised the “Wicked For Good” New York Premiere. The star took to social media to share her ecstatic review of the film adaptation:
I have never cried so hard at a movie that I had to laugh at myself for the sheer amount of sobs. cannot be overstated: it’s to be seen on the big screen as many times as possible. what a triumph. congratulations @jonmchu.”

She also gave a shout-out to the main cast and crew, including Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, confirming her enthusiastic support for the upcoming movie musical.

As the controversy grew, Disney reportedly scaled back certain publicity plans. According to People, the studio canceled the large London premiere and limited press opportunities in anticipation of potential backlash.
