Kate Middleton Reveals Date and Theme for Christmas Carol Concert
The Princess of Wales is preparing to host her fifth annual “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey next month — and this year’s event comes with a special Hollywood twist.
Just after midnight on November 13, local time, Kensington Palace announced that Princess Kate, 43, will host the beloved Christmas carol service on Friday, December 5, at Westminster Abbey in London.
The announcement also confirmed the participation of several celebrities, including Kate Winslet, Hannah Waddingham, Dan Smith, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Winslet — the Academy Award–winning actress — will attend following her appointment in June as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation, one of King Charles’ personal charities.
Sharing details about what to expect on December 5, the palace stated:
“Blending traditional and modern elements to welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds, the service will feature the world-renowned Westminster Abbey Choir performing some of the nation’s most cherished carols, alongside musical performances and readings by guests such as Hannah Waddingham, Dan Smith, Kate Winslet, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.”
The palace added, “The service will also spotlight stories from inspiring attendees who are leading by example and helping to build a more connected, compassionate society.”
This Year’s Theme: ‘Love in All Its Forms’
“This year, the service will bring people together to celebrate love in all its forms — whether that love is shared within families, expressed through friendships, strengthened across communities, or sparked by meaningful connections with strangers. In a world that can often feel divided, love is the force that brings us back together, bridging generations, communities, cultures, and faiths,” the statement continued.
“As we move into the Christmas season, we are reminded of the power of togetherness. The evening will highlight how transformative it can be to invest in one another with compassion, presence, and joy.”

On December 5, Westminster Abbey — the historic venue where Princess Kate and Prince William were married in 2011 — will welcome a congregation of 1,600 guests, each in some way connected to this year’s theme of love. Attendees may have devoted their time to supporting others, volunteered in their communities, launched initiatives that bring people together, or demonstrated remarkable kindness and empathy in their daily lives.
Members of the royal family are also expected to attend the service, along with other “recognizable faces” who have actively shown love in ways that inspire compassion, unity, and togetherness.
Last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales were joined by their three children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — who attended the festive event alongside them.
