Influencer Julia Beautx Attacked by Monkey on Vacation
Julia Beautx , one of Germany’s most popular beauty and lifestyle influencers, has revealed she was hospitalized after being bitten by a monkey while traveling in Krabi , a well-known tourist destination in southern Thailand. The 26-year-old content creator, whose real name is Julia Willecke, described the frightening wildlife encounter as happening during what was supposed to be a dream holiday. Beautx, who has more than 4.1 million Instagram followers, shared the story with fans, warning others about the risks of close contact with wild animals.
Monkey Attack at Popular Tourist Trail
According to Beautx, the incident occurred on a popular beachside monkey trail frequently visited by tourists. She explained that a small monkey initially approached her in a seemingly friendly manner.
“The cutest little monkey came running towards me and climbed all the way up to my head,” she said.
Moments later, the situation escalated rapidly. Several larger monkeys rushed toward her. One jumped onto her shoulder and fought with the smaller monkey on her head, while another clung tightly to her thigh.
The most serious injury happened when an older macaque bit her calf.
“This big old grandpa monkey went to my calf, clung on completely, and just bit down hard. He clamped his mouth on my leg. I couldn’t do anything,” Beautx recalled.
Nearby tourists eventually intervened, causing the monkeys to retreat into the surrounding trees.
Hospital Treatment and Health Concerns
Initially, Beautx believed the injury was minor and did not seek immediate medical attention, noting that she was fully vaccinated. However, swelling and discoloration soon appeared around the bite.

“It looked like someone gave me a huge hickey. It was nasty,” she explained.
Concerned, she later went to a local hospital, where doctors cleaned and disinfected the wound and prescribed antibiotics to prevent infection. She was later discharged and allowed to return to her hotel.
Health experts warn that monkey bites can be dangerous, carrying risks such as bacterial infections and potential exposure to viruses like rabies or herpes B virus, depending on the species. Medical authorities, including the CDC, advise travelers to seek immediate medical care after any monkey bite or scratch.
Authorities Warn Tourists About Wildlife Encounters
Krabi and other tourist hotspots in Thailand are home to macaques that are accustomed to human interaction. While many encounters are harmless, officials regularly warn visitors not to feed or approach wild animals, as they can become aggressive—especially when food is involved.
Despite frequent warnings, monkey trails and beaches remain major attractions, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
