Bridgerton Author Addresses Cast and Story Rumors

Bridgerton author Julia Quinn has spoken out about ongoing fan speculation surrounding the future of several characters and actors on the hit Netflix series, emphasizing that many creative decisions are still undecided.

In an interview with Us Weekly published on February 7, Quinn explained that the show’s direction remains flexible as the creative team continues planning upcoming seasons.

“I don’t necessarily know how they’re gonna spin it or write it or what they’re going to keep and change,” Quinn said.

Future Seasons May Focus on Eloise and Francesca

Quinn revealed that future installments are expected to center on Eloise Bridgerton, played by Claudia Jessie, and Francesca Bridgerton, portrayed by Hannah Dodd. However, the order in which their stories will be told has not yet been confirmed.

In Quinn’s novel To Sir Phillip, With Love, Eloise’s storyline sees her falling in love with Phillip Crane, a character portrayed on the show by Chris Fulton, who appeared in seasons one and two.

“I love her story,” Quinn said. “He’s got two kids who she has got to wrangle, which is awesome. The fact that Eloise is going to have an instant family is awesome.”

She also expressed hope that the series will retain key elements from the book, including the challenging dynamic between Eloise and Phillip’s twins.

Recasting Rumors and Younger Bridgertons

When asked whether Fulton would return to reprise his role or be recast, Quinn admitted she has no insight into the show’s final decision.

She also addressed rumors about potential recasting of Hyacinth and Gregory Bridgerton, played by Florence Hunt and Will Tilston.

“It’s funny because they were, like, 12 and 13 when they started,” Quinn said. “But when I saw them again at the premiere, they were both drinking wine.”

According to Quinn, both actors are now 18, and given the lengthy production timeline, they are expected to be well into their 20s by the time their characters’ romantic storylines are adapted.

Bridgerton Season 4 Release Details

Bridgerton season four, part one, is currently streaming on Netflix. Part two is scheduled to premiere on February 26, 2026, continuing the franchise’s tradition of staggered releases and keeping fans eagerly anticipating what comes next.

As speculation continues, Quinn’s comments suggest that while the future of Bridgerton is still evolving, the heart of its beloved characters remains firmly intact.
