From Gold Card to Nails: Trump & Nicki Moments

Hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj reaffirmed her controversial support for Donald Trump during a public appearance at the “Trump Accounts Summit” in Washington, D.C., where she praised the president and described herself as “probably the president’s No. 1 fan.”

Minaj briefly addressed the audience after holding hands with Trump on stage, saying criticism of the former president has only strengthened her support.
“The hate does not affect me at all,” she said. “It actually motivates me to support him more. We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him. The smear campaigns are not going to work. God is protecting him.”

Trump later responded by remarking on his support among Black voters, telling Minaj, “We did pretty well with your community.” He also joked about her wealth while discussing the $16 billion in projected contributions tied to “Trump Accounts.”

What Are Trump Accounts?

“Trump Accounts” refer to Section 530A individual retirement accounts, introduced through recently passed tax and spending legislation. Under the program, the federal government pledges to deposit $1,000 into investment accounts for children born between 2025 and 2028, provided parents enroll them during tax filing.

Trump called the initiative “one of the most transformative policy innovations of all time,” predicting it will have a lasting economic impact.

Minaj has announced plans to personally contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to fund Trump Accounts for her fans, though details about how those funds would be distributed have not yet been clarified.

Social Media Reaction and White House Response

Following the event, the White House shared a photo of Trump and Minaj together on social media, featuring Trump’s signature thumbs-up pose. The caption read “BARBZ x MAGA,” suggesting an alliance between Minaj’s fanbase and Trump supporters.

Minaj had promoted her appearance days earlier, calling Trump Accounts “the true meaning of paying it forward” and emphasizing early financial literacy for children.

Divided Fanbase and Political Shift

Minaj’s growing alignment with conservative politics has sparked backlash among her fans, known as the Barbz, many of whom remain divided over her stance.

In December, she made a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where she praised the Trump administration, referred to MAGA supporters as “the cool kids,” and described Trump as “handsome and dashing.”

At the event, Minaj also made controversial remarks about race, gender, and politics, including criticism of California Governor Gavin Newsom, whom she repeatedly mocked by calling “Newscum.”

Religious Rhetoric and Views on Gender

In recent appearances, Minaj has increasingly framed her political views through evangelical Christian language. She criticized what she described as hostility toward Christianity in the U.S. and argued that leaders who oppose religious expression should not hold power.

She has also voiced strong opposition to policies supporting trans youth and expressed concern that boys are discouraged from traditional masculinity.
“Boys, be boys,” Minaj said at the conference. “There’s nothing wrong with being a boy.”

Her remarks were met with applause from the conservative audience, underscoring her continued embrace of right-wing cultural and political causes.
