Taylor Swift Docuseries Final Episodes Air Early
Taylor Swift fans are getting an early holiday surprise. Disney+ has officially announced that the final two episodes of Swift’s six-part documentary series, The End of an Era, will premiere earlier than planned.
According to the streamer, episodes 5 and 6 will now be released on December 23 at 12:00 a.m. ET, instead of the originally scheduled December 26 release. Disney+ shared the update in a post on X on December 19, calling the move “an early gift to fans around the world.”
Along with the announcement, Disney+ revealed a sneak peek of episodes 3 and 4, which are set to air on Friday, December 19, at midnight.
Inside Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour
Taylor Swift previewed The End of an Era docuseries earlier this week in New York City, joined by Dana Walden, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, ahead of the show’s official debut on December 12. The documentary gives Swifties unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, one of the most successful tours in music history.
The series premiered on Disney+ at midnight on December 12, offering an exclusive look at the creative process, logistics, and emotional moments behind the tour. At the same time, Disney+ also released Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, a special recording of Swift’s post–Tortured Poets version of the concert.
How the Eras Tour Was Born
In the first episode, Swift explained how the idea for the Eras Tour came to life. She revealed that the concept was sparked by two “unpleasant” experiences: the sale of her music catalog—since reacquired—and her decision to rerecord her earlier albums.
The COVID-19 pandemic also played a major role in shaping the tour. Once planning and rehearsals began, Swift said she wanted to “overserve” fans by delivering an unprecedented variety of songs, an extended runtime, and ambitious production design.
“What if I did a tour that celebrated all of these different moments in my life and career?” Swift reflected. “That’s how the ‘eras’ concept came to be.”
Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, recalled that her daughter told the team the show would run three hours, prompting serious discussions about how to plan and execute a tour of such massive scale.
