Pop star Sabrina Carpenter Rejects White House Use of Her Music
U.S. pop star Sabrina Carpenter has demanded that the White House stop using her music after the Trump administration featured her 2024 hit “Juno” in a social media video showing ICE agents apprehending people. The clip, released Monday, used the song while depicting immigration officers chasing and detaining individuals, accompanied by a caption referencing her lyrics.
Carpenter condemned the video as “evil and disgusting,” stating that neither she nor her music should ever be used to support what she called an inhumane agenda. In response, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson defended the administration’s actions and criticized Carpenter.
The singer joins a growing list of artists who have objected to Donald Trump’s use of their music during his political messaging. The video is part of the administration’s broader push to highlight its intensified crackdown on illegal immigration since Trump began his second non-consecutive term in January. Critics argue that the tactics, including arrests in neighborhoods, courthouses, and apartment raids, are excessive and harmful.
