NASA  Hits Back at Kim Kardashian’s Theory

NASA has rejected comments made by Kim Kardashian about the 1969 Moon landing, confirming that the historic Apollo 11 mission did, in fact, happen.

During Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder expressed doubts about whether the mission ever took place, admitting her fascination with conspiracy theories.

Kardashian Discusses Buzz Aldrin’s Remarks

In the episode, Kardashian was seen speaking with her co-star Sarah Paulson on the set of her upcoming TV series All’s Fair.

“I’m sending you a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and the other one,” Kardashian told Paulson, before reading from an article that allegedly quoted Buzz Aldrin—the second person to walk on the Moon after Neil Armstrong—as saying:

“There was no scary moment because it didn’t happen. It could’ve been scary, but it wasn’t because it didn’t happen.”

Kardashian explained that Aldrin’s supposed response made her believe the Moon landing never actually happened.

“I center conspiracies all the time,” she said in a confessional, adding that she “definitely thinks the landing was fake.”

“I think it was fake. I’ve seen a few videos of Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin,” she added.

NASA’s Sean Duffy Sets the Record Straight

A few hours after the episode aired on Hulu, NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy responded to Kardashian on X (formerly Twitter).

He tagged Kardashian in a post featuring a clip of her comments and wrote:

“Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before… six times! And even better: [NASA Artemis] is going back under the leadership of [President Donald Trump]. We won the last space race and we will win this one too.”

Duffy’s response reaffirmed NASA’s stance on the authenticity of the Moon landings and highlighted the ongoing Artemis program, which aims to return astronauts to the lunar surface.

Kardashian Asks About Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS

Following Duffy’s post, Kardashian replied with curiosity about another cosmic topic, writing:

“Wait… what’s the tea on 3I Atlas?!?!”

Duffy responded, explaining that 3I/ATLAS is the third interstellar comet observed passing through our solar system. He assured that there are no aliens and no threats to life on Earth, noting:

“3 = the third, I = interstellar (meaning from beyond our solar system), and ATLAS = discovered by our Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) team.”

NASA Invites Kardashian to Artemis Launch

Duffy also praised Kardashian’s enthusiasm for space exploration, adding:

“I love your excitement about our Artemis mission to the Moon.”

He then invited her to attend the upcoming Artemis launch at the Kennedy Space Center. Kardashian has not publicly confirmed whether she plans to accept the invitation.

Interestingly, Duffy himself has a history in reality television, having appeared in The Real World: Boston (1997) and later on MTV’s Road Rules: All Stars and Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Seasons.

Scientists Continue to Debunk Moon Landing Conspiracies

Theories that the Moon landing was staged have circulated for decades but have been repeatedly debunked by scientists.

According to the Institute of Physics, “every single argument claiming that NASA faked the Moon landings has been discredited.”

Evidence includes:

  • 382 kilograms of Moon rock brought back to Earth by Apollo astronauts, independently verified as lunar by laboratories worldwide.
  • Photographic, radiation, and physical data consistent with the lunar environment.
  • A PLOS One study showing that faking the Moon landing would have required over 400,000 conspirators, making such a hoax impossible to sustain.

Conclusion: NASA Reaffirms Its Lunar Legacy

While Kim Kardashian’s remarks reignited debate among conspiracy theorists, NASA’s swift response reaffirmed the truth of the Apollo missions and promoted renewed interest in space exploration.

With the Artemis program preparing to send astronauts back to the Moon, NASA continues to remind the public that the 1969 Moon landing was real—and humanity is ready to go even further.
