Fire report: ICE agent shot Renee Good four times

A Minneapolis Fire Department incident report has revealed new details about the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, who was shot four times by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross during a confrontation in Minneapolis last week.

According to the report, Good, 37, was struck by bullets in the chest, arm and head while seated behind the wheel of her SUV on the morning of January 7, following a tense standoff between protesters and federal agents in a residential neighborhood.

Emergency Response Details

Paramedics found Good unresponsive around 9:42 a.m., with blood visible on her face and torso. Officials noted that she was not breathing and had an “irregular” and “inconsistent” pulse at the scene.

First responders documented two gunshot wounds on the right side of her chest, another on her left forearm, and a fourth wound on the left side of her head, where blood was seen flowing from her left ear.

A 911 caller reported moments earlier that “they shot her because she wouldn’t open her car door,” according to transcripts cited by the Minnesota Star Tribune.

With tensions rising between law enforcement and bystanders, emergency crews extricated Good from the crashed SUV and moved her to a nearby snowbank and then to a sidewalk to continue treatment.

Despite ongoing CPR efforts in the ambulance and later at a local hospital, medical staff pronounced her dead at 10:30 a.m.

Video and Federal Response

Graphic footage from the scene reportedly shows Good turning her steering wheel to the right—away from ICE agents—moments before Ross fired multiple rounds through her open window and windshield. DHS officials have claimed Good attempted to run over Ross during the operation, prompting him to shoot in self-defense. The agency later stated that Ross suffered internal bleeding.

Good, a mother of three who identified as a poet and writer, had recently relocated to Chicago with her wife, who was seen crying and covered in blood at the scene.

Government Statements and Allegations

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem alleged that Good had participated in a group of protesters who were “stalking and impeding” ICE agents prior to the shooting. DHS has described the incident as part of a broader immigration enforcement operation.

The shooting has sparked controversy and public scrutiny, with activists questioning the federal account and demanding the release of full investigative findings.
