Mickey Rourke Faces Eviction After TV Show Scandal
Hollywood icon Mickey Rourke has sparked fresh concern after being spotted with a completely shaved head outside his Los Angeles home, just days after reports emerged that he is facing possible eviction.
The 73-year-old actor, best known for his critically acclaimed role in The Wrestler, was photographed on New Year’s Day collecting groceries at the doorstep of the property he is allegedly at risk of losing. Rourke, who has long been known for his dark brunette hair and flamboyant style, appeared almost unrecognisable with his newly bald look.
Spotted Outside Los Angeles Home
Wearing a black and green striped jumper paired with blue jeans, Rourke was seen standing on his doorstep in socks and sweatpants as he accepted a grocery delivery. During the brief encounter, the handle of one of the shopping bags reportedly tore, causing a minor struggle as he gathered his belongings.
The sighting comes shortly after court documents revealed that the actor may be facing eviction over alleged unpaid rent totaling nearly $60,000 (£44,500).
Alleged $59,100 Rent Arrears and Eviction Notice
According to legal filings obtained by the Daily Mail, documents submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court state that Rourke was served with a three-day notice to either pay overdue rent or vacate the property on December 18.
The complaint, filed by landlord Eric T. Goldie, claims that Rourke owed $59,100 at the time the notice was issued. When a process server attempted to deliver the paperwork, Rourke was allegedly not at home, resulting in the notice being posted outside the residence.
Rourke began renting the three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom house on March 30 under an initial lease agreement of $5,200 per month, which was reportedly increased to $7,000 per month from the second month onward.
Recent Celebrity Big Brother Controversy
The legal issues follow another turbulent chapter for the actor. Last year, Rourke was removed from Celebrity Big Brother after what ITV described as “unacceptable language and behaviour.”
In an official statement, ITV said:
“Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”
The behavior was reportedly directed at fellow housemate JoJo Siwa, leading to widespread criticism and media attention.
Historic Los Angeles Property
The home at the center of the eviction dispute is said to have historical significance. Built in 1926, the property was once occupied in the 1940s by legendary crime novelist Raymond Chandler, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Located in the Beverly Grove neighborhood, the house sits just south of West Hollywood and only a few blocks from The Grove shopping center and the adjacent Farmers Market.
