Burglars target home of Dias and Jama in Cheshire

Love Island presenter Maya Jama and Manchester City defender Ruben Dias have reportedly been left shocked and upset after their luxury home in Cheshire was burgled on Wednesday evening.

According to police reports, the break-in occurred at their property in Alderley Edge while both were away from home. Jama was in South Africa filming the latest series of Love Island, while Dias was playing in Manchester City’s Champions League match against Galatasaray.

Cheshire Police confirmed they received a call shortly after 11:10pm on 28 January regarding a burglary at a residential address in the area. Officers attended the scene and found that forced entry had been made and several items were stolen. Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have yet been announced.

The high-profile couple moved into the Cheshire property together late last year after previously living in different cities. Dias had been based in Manchester city centre, while Jama spent most of her time in London. Maya Jama recently revealed she owns homes in London, the Cotswolds and Cheshire, and shared photos from the new house over the Christmas period.

Their relationship is said to have begun after meeting in Manchester in late 2024, with the couple going public several months later. Dias, a key defender for Manchester City since 2020, signed a new contract extension in 2025, further cementing his future at the club. Jama has fronted the hit ITV2 dating show Love Island since 2023, boosting her status as one of the UK’s most recognisable TV personalities.

The couple’s Cheshire neighbourhood is known for being home to several current and former Premier League footballers. Reports suggest burglars may have specifically targeted the property knowing both residents were away.

Similar incidents have previously affected other top-flight footballers in the same region, raising concerns about organised groups tracking players’ schedules and targeting empty homes during matches.

A source close to the couple said they were “devastated” by the incident but are cooperating fully with police as enquiries continue.
