Game Gods Reward LeBron’s Unselfish Play
LeBron James Confident “Game Gods” Will Reward His Unselfish Play After Historic Streak Ends
LeBron James says he has no regrets after his legendary streak of double-digit scoring games came to an end. The Los Angeles Lakers star finished with eight points in a 123–120 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday, ending his remarkable run of 1,297 consecutive regular-season games with at least 10 points. The streak, which began in January 2007, shattered Michael Jordan’s previous record by 431 games.
Instead of forcing shots to keep the streak alive, the 40-year-old focused on making the right basketball play. James recorded 11 assists, including the crucial pass that set up Rui Hachimura’s buzzer-beating game-winner.

When asked about losing the streak, James was unfazed:
“None. We won,” he said. “I always just make the right play. That’s automatic, win, lose, or draw. That’s how I was taught the game. You make the right play — the game gods are always giving back to me.”
James’ commitment to team success over personal milestones once again highlighted his leadership and longevity, even as one of basketball’s most iconic streaks came to a close.
