Jennifer Aniston joins outcry for Alex Pretti
As demonstrations swell across Minneapolis, public outrage over alleged human rights violations in the United States continues to mount following the shooting of Alex Pretti. Actress Jennifer Aniston has become the latest high-profile figure to call for justice in his name.
The tragedy follows the January 7 shooting of Renée Good by ICE officers. Just 17 days later, another ICE-related operation in Minneapolis resulted in the death of Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse. With authorities adopting a tougher stance toward peaceful demonstrators, the Friends star shared an emotional statement from Pretti’s parents.
“We are heartbroken but also very angry,” the family wrote. “Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family, his friends, and the American veterans he served as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital.”
Aniston has previously spoken out in support of individuals impacted by the current administration’s policies. She notably commented that “unthinkable things are happening” after the controversial ban of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
While the President has defended ICE actions, Aniston is far from alone in expressing dissent. Pedro Pascal, former President Barack Obama, and Billie Eilish are among the prominent figures condemning the operations seen as emblematic of increasingly aggressive federal enforcement tactics.
