Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, have reportedly banned Peaty’s mother, Caroline Peaty, from attending their upcoming Christmas wedding at Bath Abbey after a dramatic family dispute.
Hen Party Snub Sparks Tension
According to reports, the fallout began when Holly, 25, hosted her lavish hen party at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds — attended by her mother Tana Ramsay, sisters Megan and Tilly, family friend Victoria Beckham, and Adam’s sister Bethany Peaty.
However, Adam’s mother, Caroline, was not invited, allegedly leaving her “heartbroken.” While others celebrated the pre-wedding festivities, Caroline remained at home in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, caring for her grandson, George.
Family Accusations and Online Outburst
The situation escalated when Adam’s aunt Louise Williams posted an emotional public message on Instagram, accusing Holly of being “divisive and hurtful” for excluding Caroline. Williams wrote that Holly had “inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal,” referencing Caroline’s years of support for Adam’s Olympic career.
Shortly afterward, reports claim that Adam confronted his mother and informed her she was no longer welcome at the wedding. Sources allege he also told her she would not see his son George or any future grandchildren again.
Caroline’s Emotional Response
In a now-viral Instagram post, Caroline expressed her pain, writing:
“Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can’t explain how broken your heart is.”
The message drew sympathy from friends and followers, with one commenting that considering both Adam and Holly are “mental health advocates,” they appeared to show “little regard” for Caroline’s emotional wellbeing.

Family insiders have claimed that Adam’s relationship with his mother deteriorated after he began dating Holly in 2023. Sources suggested that the Olympic gold medallist, once known for his strong family ties, had become “distant” and “ashamed” of his working-class roots since joining the Ramsay family circle.
Caroline and her husband Mark reportedly sacrificed heavily for their son’s swimming career, driving him to early-morning training sessions and supporting him financially. The rift, they say, has left them devastated.
