Cole Palmer in neighbour row over garden gym
The 23-year-old Chelsea midfielder recently purchased the six-bedroom property, which is located on a private gated estate close to the club’s training ground. The modern new-build already includes a wide range of high-end features, such as four reception rooms, a media and games room, multiple living spaces, a study, staff accommodation, and an indoor gym.
Palmer has now applied for permission to add a detached gym building at the end of his garden. The proposed structure would measure approximately 36ft by 16ft and stand 11ft high.
However, at least one neighbouring resident has lodged an objection with the local council. In a letter, the neighbour raised concerns about a potential loss of privacy and increased noise, arguing that the planned building would be positioned very close to the boundary between the properties. The objection also claimed that two mature trees would need to be removed, reducing natural screening between the homes.

The neighbour suggested the outbuilding should instead be located closer to Palmer’s main house.
In response, the planning application—submitted in the name of Palmer’s father, Jermaine—states that no trees would be removed as part of the development.
Land Registry records show Palmer completed the purchase of the property late last year. A previous planning application for new entrance gates at the address was approved, despite objections from neighbours during the original construction of the house.

Several former Chelsea players, including Petr Čech, Gary Cahill, César Azpilicueta, Ben Chilwell, Ryan Bertrand and Glen Johnson, are reported to live in the surrounding area.
Council officials are expected to reach a decision on the latest planning application in March.
