Arsenal Hit with FA Fine After Fiery Chelsea Clash

Arsenal are set to receive an automatic £25,000 fine from the Football Association after their intense 1–1 Premier League draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The London derby was packed with drama as Mikel Merino’s header cancelled out Trevoh Chalobah’s opener, keeping Arsenal five points clear at the top of the table. Chelsea remain one point behind Manchester City in third.

Referee Anthony Taylor issued seven yellow cards during the fiery encounter, six of which went to Arsenal players. Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera, Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Viktor Gyokeres all entered the book.

Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo saw a first-half yellow overturned by VAR and was later sent off for serious foul play, marking his first Premier League red card in 130 appearances. Marc Cucurella received Chelsea’s only caution.

The dismissal continues Chelsea’s ongoing disciplinary struggles under Enzo Maresca, with the Blues now registering four red cards in 13 league matches this season and sitting bottom of the Premier League Fair Play table.

Under current FA regulations, any side collecting six or more yellow cards in a single match automatically receives a £25,000 fine—leaving Arsenal to incur financial punishment despite extending their lead at the top.
