Fans Upset at Wicked Premiere

Pop superstar Ariana Grande has come under fire after reportedly failing to greet fans who waited for hours in the rain at the London premiere of Wicked on Monday evening.

The Wicked cast, including Grande and her co-stars, gathered at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the highly anticipated musical film’s release this Friday. However, disappointed fans claimed the singer “ignored” them as she was swiftly escorted inside by staff amid heavy rain.

Fans Waited for Hours in Torrential Rain

Eager supporters began queuing outside the venue as early as 2 p.m., armed with albums, posters, and photos hoping to get them signed by the 31-year-old pop icon. As the red carpet kicked off, a sudden downpour drenched fans who had been waiting in the cold.

One fan posted on social media: “Been waiting since 2 p.m., so excited to see Ariana!” But later shared a video showing their soaked memorabilia, saying they stood in the “pouring rain” for hours without catching a glimpse of the star.

Ariana Grande Escorted Inside by Security

In viral clips circulating on X (formerly Twitter), Grande can be seen holding hands with security and being led straight inside the venue without stopping for fans. Meanwhile, her brother Frankie Grande, 41, took time to greet and interact with supporters on the red carpet.

Fans expressed disappointment online, describing the singer’s actions as “cold” and “disheartening,” especially given their dedication in braving the weather to see her.

The Wicked Movie Premiere

Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked is one of the most anticipated movie musicals of the year, starring Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good Witch and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. The film is set for release this Friday, promising to bring the beloved Broadway classic to life on the big screen.
