£73.4 Million Security Boost Announced to Protect Faith Communities
The government has announced a £73.4 million funding package aimed at strengthening security measures for faith communities across the country.
Officials said the investment reflects a firm stance against religious hatred and intimidation. The funding will support enhanced protection at places of worship, faith schools, and community centres.
The financial support will be used to install and upgrade security features including trained security staff, CCTV systems, protective fencing, alarm systems, and floodlighting.
Authorities say the measures are designed to ensure that worshippers, students, and community members can gather and practice their faith safely and without fear.
The initiative forms part of wider efforts to combat hate crimes and promote community safety nationwide.
